AutoZone
In June 2010 Zico, together with a consortium of RMB Corvest and AutoZone Management, concluded a leveraged buy-out of AutoZone from Super Group.
AutoZone is the largest privately owned automotive parts retailer and wholesaler in Southern Africa with a footprint of 10 wholly-owned Wholesale branches, 84 Wholly-owned Retail branches and 48 member-owned franchise branches.
These branches are supported by a supplier base of 688 world-class suppliers and an active parts range of 75 000. AutoZone also has presence in Namibia, Zimbabwe, Swaziland and Botswana through a footprint of corporate and member branches. AutoZone’s branches are backed by a well-developed supply chain, merchandising and support services
The company has a leading presence in the National Accounts (corporate and government contracts) segment and holds the SAPS (South African Police Services) contract to supply all automotive spare parts to the SAPS fleet.
