Sandile Zungu BSc Mech Eng, MBA (UCT)
Chairman |
Sandile is the Chairman of Zico. He has a BSc Mechanical Engineering degree as well as a
Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the UCT. In 2000 he completed the Program for Global
Leadership certificate at the Harvard Business School in Boston, USA. After six years in engineering,
Sandile joined African Merchant Bank and was appointed associate within the corporate finance division.
He left in 1997 to establish SARHWU Investment Holdings, growing the company from a zero asset base to
more than R400 million, in net asset value. (NAIL) as executive director responsible for strategy and
empowerment. He was intimately involved in developing and implementing plans by NAIL to distribute its
interest in Metropolitan Life Limited (METLIFE). He left NAIL at the end of 2001 after its complete
transformation to a R1 billion media company. Sandile is past chairman of a number of companies,
including Denel, Barnard Jacobs Mellet Holdings and Spectrum Shipping. He is non-executive director
of, amonst others, Grinrod Ltd, Cipla Metro Ltd, Autozone, Supercare, Taquanta and Outdoor Network.
His many notable achievements include representing South Africa in 2000 at the 6th finals of the World
Young Business Achievers, held in Florida, USA, where he won the much-coveted Outstanding Business
Strategy award. Sandile is a member of the World Economic Forum in his capacity as Young Global Leader.
He subscribes to the philosophy: hard work pays its dues and integrity sustains gains. |

Tshego Sefolo BCom, CA (SA), MBA (Wits)
Managing Director |
Tshego is the Managing Director of the Group responsible for overall management of the business.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree from the University of Natal and is a qualified Chartered
Accountant. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Witwatersrand.
He completed articles with Ernst & Young in Johannesburg and London. Prior to joining Zico, he was with Ethos
Private Equity and Standard Bank. He is involved in transaction origination, execution and post investment
value management. He is a non-executive director of AutoZone, Debis Fleet Management, Henkel SA, Precrete,
Outdoor Network and TUV Rhineland SA. He participates in various board sub-committees of portfolio companies. |

Charl Ferreira BCom, CA (SA)
Executive Director: Mining |
Charl is an Executive Director of Mining at Zico. He is a Chartered Accountant
and spent the last 11 years of his career with Nedbank Capital in the Investment Banking Division with 8 of these
years in the M&A advisory team and 3 years in the Mining & Resource Finance team. Charl’s advisory experience ranges
from advising on and managing acquisitions, disposals, mergers, divestments, tender sale processes, listings and
de-listings from the JSE Limited, capital raisings as well as senior, mezanine and project finance based lending in
the mining industry. Charl’s client’s included Harmony Gold, Uranium One, Gold One, Keaton Energy, Royal Bafokeng
Holdings, Eland Platinum, BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto to name a few. |

Londeka Shezi BCom, CA(SA)
Senior Investment Associate |
Londeka is a Senior Associate at Zico. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honors degree from the University of Witwatersrand
and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. Londeka completed her articles with Pricewaterhouse Coopers in 2009 where she
served within the Banking division. In this divison she was exposed to the audit process of various financial institutions
including The South African Reserve Bank, ABSA, Rand Merchant Bank, Stanlib and RMB Corvest. Londeka subsequently joined
Standard Bank where she worked in the Leverage and Acquisitions team as an Analyst and Junior Transactor and gained invaluable
experience in debt advisory. She represents Zico on the Board of Shuter & Shooter. |

Mpho Simelane, BCom Hons
Group Financial Manager |
Mpho is the Group Financial Manager at Zico. She has a BCom degree from the University of Cape Town and an Honours degree from the University of Natal. She completed her articles with Sizwe Ntsaluba VSP in February 2004 where she gained audit and accounting exposure in various industries. Prior to articles she was at Promat (Transnet procurement division) as a senior administrator and in 2004 she joined Spoornet as a Junior Manager and later manager in the Corporate and Financial Management Division. She was also with Lereko Sustainability (Pty) Ltd as a Financial Manager. Outside of her work at Zico, Mpho is very passionate about her community work involving young children. |

Tsepiso Mofokeng BCom Hons, MBL (Unisa)
Executive Director |
Tsepiso is an Executive Director of Zico responsible as the CEO of both Crazy Slots and Qhubeka Forensic Services, both Zico subsidiaries. He has BCom Honours and MBL degrees from (UNISA), Diploma in Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigation (UJ), Diploma in Corporate Law (UJ), Certificate in Fleet Management (RAU), Certificate in Corporate Law (UNISA).He is a strategic marketer who, over the years, has built impeccable credentials on the subject. He was previously with, amongst others, Independent Newspapers as a media analyst before working for Unilever, Coca-Cola, ABSA Bank and NBS. He is a non executive director of Isikhonyane Cleaning Services, Supercare and Qhubeka Forensic Services. He is the Chairman of Limited Payout Machine Association of South Africa. |

Alton Solomons CA (SA), CFA
Non Executive Director |
Alton represents Sanlam Private Equity on the Zico board. He joined SPE in May 2005 in the Johannesburg Office as a Principal where his responsibilities include assistance in transactions from identification, initiation, negotiations, closing, monitoring investments and exit thereof. He also represents SPE and its clients on boards and investment committees of portfolio companies and private equity funds. He is Chartered Accountant with a post graduate diploma in Auditing from Unisa. He qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst in January 2007, with the CFA Institute in the USA. In 2003 Alton successfully completed the Lim’uvune Investment Training and Development Programme. He completed his articles with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2001. He then joined ShopriteCheckers as a Trainee Divisional Financial Manager responsible for reporting on a number of African Countries. In March 2002 he joined the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) as a business analyst, later to be promoted to account manager. |

Lusanda Dube BCom CA (SA)
Non Executive Director |
Lusanda represents Sanlam Private Equity on the Zico board. She is a Chartered Accountant, and completed her articles at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She holds a BCom degree and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Accounting both from the University of Cape Town. Prior to joining Sanlam Private Equity, Lusanda was employed in the Debt Structuring unit of Sanlam Capital Markets Limited. She joined the Debt team in January 2006 as a trainee-dealmaker from the Debt Investment and Credit Risk Management department of Sanlam Investment Management. In January 2007 Lusanda transferred to Sanlam Private Equity as an Investment Associate and is now involved in the management of several of the existing and prospective investments. |

Geoffrey Nzau BSc, FIA
Non Executive Director

Joined Alexander Forbes in 2002 and has occupied various senior positions including Managing Director of the Public Sector Division and Chief Executive Officer of AfriNet covering; Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Previously Managing Director of NBC Employee Benefits and Business Unit Director at Ginsburg Malan & Carsons. Consulting Actuary at Watson Wyatt Worldwide and actuarial trainee and Actuary in the international division of the Prudential Assurance Company.
Geoffrey has been qualified as an actuary for over 10 years. He was a member of the Council of Actuarial Society of South Africa and a member of Social Security Committee of the Actuarial Society of South Africa as well as the International Actuarial Association. Geoffrey was an active participant of the National Retirement Benefits Consultative Forum by the National Treasury. In addition, the Minister of Finance appointed Geoffrey to serve as a Trustee of the Political Office Bearers Pension Fund, which covers all MP’s, MPL’s and Ministers, allowing him an opportunity to interact with lawmakers and policy makers. |
